Contract Authorizing the Sale of Chametz

On Passover, in addition to the commandment not to consume ‘chometz’  - food or drink that contain leavened or fermented grain such as pasta, beer or whisky - we are also proscribed from benefiting or owning such food or drink. To this end one needs to arrange - through the rabbi - for the sale of one’s chometz to a non-Jew. This way the chometz remains physically in our home but we do not own it.

Use this form to authorize Rabbi New to sell your chometz on your behalfAfter Passover he will buy back the chometz on your behalf.

Be sure to submit your form before Monday, April 22, 10:00 am.

I (We) hereby authorize Rabbi Moishe New to sell all chometz that may be in my (our) possession wherever it may be - at home, at my (our) work place, vacation residence, or elsewhere - in accordance with the requirements of Jewish Law as incorporated in the special contract for the sale of chometz.
